All About Luv-N-Bunns Rabbit Rescue

Luv-N-Bunns Rabbit Rescue has been caring for abandoned, abused, and unwanted domestic rabbits (and occasionally cats) for 15 years. Luv-N-Bunns is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer domestic rabbit rescue organization, housing more than 100 rabbits at our locations at any one time.

Over the years, we have placed over 3000 rabbits with caring, adoptive parents -- over 200 rabbits in 2008 alone.  To adopt a needy rabbit, please download our Adoption Application Form  (a .DOC file), and then  Contact Us!

Vital to our pet rescue services, are donations of money, pet food, and other petcare supplies from the public. Donations are always appreciated. To make donations, please   Email Us.  Thank You!.

Our Pet Rescue and Rehabilition Efforts for Rabbits and Cats include:

1) Rescuing domestic rabbits and cats from local animal shelters.

2) Arranging for spaying and neutering of pets in anticipation of adopting them out to appropriate homes.

3) Sponsoring adoption events to introduce our rescued pets to potential new families.

4) Educating the public on the proper care and housing of domestic rabbits and cats, through both public events and school programs.

Luv-N-Bunns utilizes a network of foster homes to house the animals until they are adopted into a permanent home or in the event they are unadoptable, they are fostered until they can be moved into a rabbit sanctuary. Foster care provides the animals with a home in which they can receive socialization and rebuild the trust of the animal. A big part of our goal is to educate pet owners and to work with them to find a solution to their pet's problems so that are not surrendered to the local shelters.

Rabbits we rescue will be examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered and socialized prior to adoption. All veterinary care is billed directly to Luv-N-Bunns, so our foster families do not incur any cost for providing veterinary treatment.

Luv-N-Bunns volunteers will patrol the local shelters weekly to locate rabbits who may need some medical intervention and some socialization in order to become adoptable and that would otherwise be euthanized for no reason other than lack of room at the shelter. Without our weekly assessment of the animals in the shelters, many of these animals would be euthanized because the shelter does not have the available help to provide for daily medical treatment or does not have the knowledge of how to properly handle and socialize a rabbit.
